For Preparing the Soya Chaap Curry/Soya Bean Gravy

  • You can thin slit the 4 big onions and sautee them in the pan for making the paste of gravy. But here today, we are chopping the onions finely and directly grinding it in the mixer! Both options can give you an amazing taste of the gravy.
  • We are taking tomatoes to make puree and garlic/ginger paste to give the spicy flavor of the gravy.
  • Mash all the dry spices we had taken such as Dalcheeni sticks, Elaichi, Laung cloves, Moti Elaichi so that it becomes easy to fry in the fry.
  • Now in the pan add and heat some oil for few moments and add bay leaves(Tej Patte) plus all the mashed dry spices.
  • Now add the finely chopped onions to the pan and let it cook till it turns golden brown in nature!
  • After you see the brown texture of the onions, add the ginger and garlic grounded mix to the dish.
  • Add the tomato puree which we made earlier and let the entire mixture cook really well.
  • Cook until the masala mixture of the Veg Chaap gives our water and is ready for further processing!
  • Remove the Tej leaves and add lots of Dhania powder. Add salt so it gives out the water from the mixture.
  • Add a few pinches of Haldi powder, 2 to 3 small tablespoons of jeera powder.
  • Add the prominent Red chili powder to give the mixture the versatile flavor and color.
  • Mix all the ingredients of spices well in medium flame and add the much-awaited Soya Chaap which we marinated and mix the masala mixture all along quite well. We will do this that the masala mix combines well with the Soya Chaap chunks!
  • Add a cup of fresh cream so it gives a rich taste. Add water to create a volume of the dish.
  • After the mix gets cooked well and you find oil being left around the mixture. Add 1 cup of water again. Put the 2 pieces of bay leaves back to get a good flavor.
  • Post adding water, turn the flame into medium, and let it cook for 5 to 7 minutes in a row. Close the lid of the pan for a secure preparation.
  • After the time frame, open the lid and you will find a beautiful color of the Soya Chaap gravy.
  • Towards the end, add some garam masala and dhania powder and cook well.
